Dan came to Making Headway with almost 20 years of experience in non-profit management, fundraising, communications, and a passion for helping people. Previously, he served as the Executive Director of the Yonkers Downtown Waterfront BID, where he was responsible for all organizational activities, including events, development, financial management, community programs, and a staff of 12. Prior to that, Dan served as the Executive Director of the Port Chester Council of Community Services, Director of Special Projects at the Westchester Children’s Association, and National Grants Manager at the International Rescue Committee. Dan earned his Master of Public Administration of Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. Dan is very active in the community, serving on several Boards, including President of Yonkers Arts. Dan currently lives in White Plains with his wife and two daughters.


Jennifer Samuels

Jennifer spent her childhood in Europe and moved back to the United States in 2003. She went to Blessed Sacrament High School in New Rochelle, and then on to Iona College. After college, Jennifer started working as an office administrator almost immediately, first in New York City and then in Westchester. She has worked in many different sectors, with the latest being a leading cookie company and an energy company. She is embarking for the first time in the wonderful, fulfilling world of non-profit organizations. In her spare time she bakes, cooks, and does an array of different arts and crafts. She lives in Hartsdale with her husband and their brand new baby.
